Boating around Jackson Hole happens in a tight summer window, and the water and sun here are hard on a hull.

• Jackson Lake. Big water under the Tetons, with afternoon wind that throws spray across the deck and leaves spots when it dries.
• Palisades Reservoir. A popular run over the state line for a weekend on the water, which usually means a long tow behind a truck on dusty, buggy highway miles.
• The Snake River. Drift boats and rafts go in and out at gravel ramps all summer, and the grit goes everywhere.
• High-altitude sun. At over 6,000 feet the summer sun is strong. Gelcoat, vinyl seats and canvas fade and chalk faster than they would at sea level.

• Before storage. Clean it before it goes away for the winter so dirt, moisture and food are not sitting in it until spring. If you are storing with us, we can line that up.
