The magnesium chloride and sand spread across Highway 22, Teton Pass, and the town of Jackson every winter are brutal on unprotected paint. Salt is corrosive, and once it works into micro-scratches it keeps eating. A ceramic coating seals the surface so contaminants sit on top of the coating instead of bonding to the clear coat, which means winter grime rinses off far more easily and does far less damage.

The hydrophobic effect is the part owners notice first: water sheets off, snow and slush struggle to stick, and a quick rinse restores that just-detailed look without a full wash. The coating also adds UV resistance, which matters at our elevation where the sun is stronger than most people realize.

It bonds with the silica in your glass to repel rain and snow, so precipitation beads and rolls off at speed and your wipers work less. For anyone driving over Teton Pass in a storm or heading to the airport in a whiteout, the improvement in visibility is dramatic. Because glass sees a lot of wear, we recommend reapplying about every six months.

For paint, we offer 1-year and 3-year ceramic coatings. Both include a hand wash, full paint decontamination, clay bar treatment, and door jamb cleaning before the coating goes on paint and plastics. The difference is durability and hardness: the 3-Year Ceramic Coating is our best-value option for owners keeping their vehicle for the long haul, while the 1-Year Ceramic Coating is a great entry point.

For the best possible result, we recommend at least a 1-Step Polish before application. Coating over swirl marks and defects just locks them in — correcting the paint first means the coating protects a finish that already looks its best.
